Why, do I need to groom my horse?

The most important step before riding is grooming. Why, you ask? It helps you get to know your horse better and she gets to know you better also. Sometimes she may look clean but there is dirt under the fur that can cause saddle sores. Grooming also helps spread the natural oils on the horse. When you brush your horse, it massages her at the same time as of getting her clean. Grooming increases circulation to your horses skin and releases the necessary oils that promote a vibrant coat. When I do that with my horse, Fortune, she looks like she is wearing a coat of velvet.
