How to Tell Your Horse to Walk On and Whoa.

Once you are in the saddle, say, "Walk on" and squeeze your legs a little bit to get your horse walking. After you have ridden for a little while say, "Whoa" and gently pull the reins back till the horse stops. If you ask your horse for a whoa but she doesn't listen, then it's time to increase the pressure a little by pulling on the reins. I've heard stories of people who were not familiar with horses and could not stop a runaway horse so make sure you start slow and keep control.
