How to Get the Correct lead at a Canter

So you want to learn what the correct lead is and to avoid the wrong lead? When you are cantering in the show ring and the left shoulder is on the rail, your horse's right front leg should be going farther then the left leg. To get that, turn your horses nose to the rail slightly so the right leg shoulder is open then slide your left leg slightly behind the girth and squeeze your left leg. If your horse's right leg is on the rail, repeat those steps but do the opposite.
