How To Get a Horse To go Through Water

Is your horse scared of water puddles? My horse, Fortune, was scared of water puddles until I worked with her showing her that puddles are shallow and won't hurt her. (Remember that horses are prey animals and think everything is out to get them.) In order to do that I had to walk her back and forth until she quit being scared of the puddle. When she started to lick her lips showing she wasn't scared anymore, I got in the saddle and repeated it until I got the same results.
