When you get a horse, you need to gain its trust. In order to do that you need a halter and a lead rope. When you get the halter and lead rope on, start walking around the barn while talking to her. After doing that for a week, you can start doing ground work. Ground work includes trail-in-hand and showmanship. When you feel comfortable with groundwork, you can start to ride at a walk, then a trot, canter and finally you can gallop! Have fun with your new friend.
